Getting Connected

Connected

How do you become a part of the community that is Trinity Church so that it's your new 'home', where you can feel you belong and participate? It may be helpful to see it as three parts of a natural (and supernatural!) process. It's a bit like dating, engagement and marriage!

1. CONTACT: Trinity as an open community

Trinity Church has 'fuzzy edges'. Its main events are open to everyone and you may soon begin to feel 'at home' wherever you're at in your journey. Here's some points of contact to get started.

2. CONNECT: Trinity as intentional community

Trinity is a form of 'cell church', that is, the principal point of connection and of learning to be a Jesus-follower is in small groups of about 8-15. This section tells you how to join a cell group.

3. COVENANT: Trinity as servant community

There comes a point where the Holy Spirit joins our hearts in a 'covenant' relationship and we 'own' our mission in a bond of mutual loyalty. It's a covenant of servanthood in God's kingdom.

XL Ministry School 2010

XL is the training ministry of Trinity Church. This year the course is called XL Express. There will be three 6-week terms, running on Thursday evenings, each with three module to choose from. Term 1 starts 23 September with these three options.

The Exchange

The Exchange

After a huge restoration project Trinity's splendid city-centre building beside the Custom House is already adding a new boost to the welfare of the city. And it's become a high-profile venue of choice for some great events.

Exchange HistoryA building with a history

Every Dubliner knows the Old Labour Exchange. But few know it began its life in 1839 as the famous Trinity Church.

President McAleeseThe Exchange as a venue

President McAleese: "Nothing prepared me for this sight". The splendid main auditorium has already hosted major events.

Heritage RestorationThe Heritage Restoration

This heritage project has given Dublin back the gift of one of its old treasures. Take a tour, and help complete the next phase.

Leadership

One of the best 'gifts' a Christian community can have is good leadership. Unusually, there are no 'clergy' in Trinity Church, yet leadership is regarded as of critical importance, and men and women may fulfill any leadership role. This section describes how the various leadership teams work and who's on them.

Network Leadership Team (NLT)

This is the main leadership team and has overall responsibility for the envisioning, equipping, ethos and governance of the whole Network. Fergus Ryan leads the team. Meet them here.

Network Ministry Leaders

The principal ministry 'departments' each have a Ministry Leader who heads up the vision and activities of one major area of Trinity's work - Youth, Children, Mission, Administration and Finance.

Congregations, Cells and 'spheres' of life

The activities of each of Trinity's three local congregations is coordinated by a team. Each cell group has a leader and there are also leaders of various 'spheres' of activity.

Local Small Groups

< *** Almost all we do in terms of building community, discipleship training and mission is expressed in groups of 8-15 people called cells. These cell groups meet all over Dublin, usually weekly. Cell churches run very few other programmes, so cells are the primary expression of the life of the church. Each cell has a cell group leader, and an assistant leader who is ready to lead when, on reaching about 15 members, the cell divides in two. (We are equally divided on whether cells divide or multiply!) Trinity's Headway Discipleship Series forms the basis of the discipleship training element of cell life. Cells sometimes run Alpha courses or other events for those investigating Christianity. *** >

JOINING A TRINITY CELL GROUP ???

To find out if there is a cell in your area email: office@trinity.ie You will be put in touch with the cell coordinator for your area. He or she will give you a booklet explaining cells in more depth, and if you're both happy you'll be invited to join one of the local cells. Trinity Cells are geared for those who have committed their lives to follow Jesus. If you want to know how to become a committed Christian you should ask about Alpha courses or click here to read Meet Someone Magnificent.

Congregations

On most Sundays Trinity Church meets in three local communities around Dublin called congregations. So there may be a Trinity congregation near you. There are children's activities each Sunday.

... and Celebrations

Once a month, usually the first Sunday, all Trinity congregations meet together at The Exchange for a celebration.

Find details of Trinity's congregation meeting here.

Trinity Central

One of Trinity's congregations meets in Dublin city centre at the Exchange. Meetings run from 10.30 - 12.15. Click here for directions and meet the Congregation Team.

Trinity North

Trinity's North congregation near the airport may suit you best. Meetings are currently at Bewley's Hotel (M50/N32 junction) from 10.30-12.15. Get directions and meet the North Congregation Team here.

Trinity Lucan

Trinity's west congregation meets at the Lucan Educate Together school, from 10.30-12.00. Get directions and meet the Lucan Congregation Team here.

This section outlines our energising values, our shared Christian foundations of faith, and our story.

Children

Children are highly valued at Trinity! We currently have 52 children's workers in three congregations, as well as fully equipped crèches. Our aim is that the children would know that God loves them and forgives them, He speaks to them and hears them, He's powerful, He heals them, and He's always by their side.

Sunday classes are interactive, creative, relational and fun! Trinity members with a real heart for God and for children are selected for Children's Ministry. They receive regular training and operate within the guidelines of the Trinity Childcare Policy (approved by the Health Board).

Children's Celebrations for children of all Trinity congregations are held monthly on Sunday mornings during the joint (adult) Celebrations. Other extra-curricular events are organized throughout the year including a Junior Alpha Course, summer programme and outings.
