OUR VISION

We are a Christian community helping people rediscover their true identity and destiny which is sparked into life by a radical encounter with Jesus and his kingdom, leading to transformed lives of hope and love, truth and freedom. Our passion is bringing Jesus to people and people to Jesus, in Dublin and the World.

OUR MESSAGE

Our message is the good news of who Jesus is and what he has done, and about the Kingdom of God which Jesus proclaimed and demonstrated.

JESUS MISSION

Jesus’ mission is transforming people from the inside out. This transformation is expressed in relationship UP to God, IN to other Jesus followers in Trinity Church and OUT to all people we meet.

Specifically, Jesus came to destroy the things that prevent people from having a real relationship with God and other people and from experiencing all He wants for them.

Jesus longs to bring all people into;

total forgiveness for everything they have ever done wrong (sin).
release from all kinds of captivity.
joy and purpose in life instead of aimlessness and despair.
wholeness and hope for the future.
a life in meaningful relationship with God.

…this is what Jesus meant when he asked his followers to pray that God’s kingdom life would come, on earth as it is in heaven.

As we gather as a church community we want to be a display of what it is like when people have been set free into real relationship with God, who is Father, Son & Holy Spirit.

We hope when you visit Trinity Church you will see something of the joyful worship, authentic community and the changed lives of those who have become followers of Jesus.

OUR VALUES

Our values are particular biblical truths and principles which energise us and shape why and how we do things as a Church community and as individual followers of Jesus. They are precious to us and we call them our ‘theological treasures’. You can read about these in more detail in our Headway Series discipleship material (available free to download).

Here is a summary of Trinity’s treasures and energising passions.

1. Jesus centered Christianity.
   Jesus is God and the climactic revelation of God. He is the only Saviour of mankind. His lifestyle & ethics are a model for us to imitate. Scripture should be understood and interpreted through Jesus, (John 1:1,14 & 18, 14:9, Acts 4:12, Philippians 2:1-8, Colossians 2:9, Hebrews 1:3, Luke 24:27)
    
2. God is ‘relational’ (Zephaniah 3:17)
   The Bible reveals God as a ‘Trinity’ of relationships, (Father, Son and Holy Spirit), (Mark 1:10-11). He partners with us as his co-workers in a battle of kingdom love against the evil that destroys people (Eph 6:10ff). In this partnership our prayers and actions bring about situations that might not otherwise have happened, (James 5:17-18)
    
3. The Holy Spirit of God.
   The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and Son. Only those living in an ongoing immersion (baptism) in the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18) will be empowered in kingdom mission, display the fruit (character) of the Holy Spirit in their lives (Galatians 6:22-23) and be the worshippers in ‘spirit and truth’ whom God desires. (John 4:24; Acts 2).
    
4. The Bible is the Word of God.
   In Trinity Church all our teaching must arise from the Scriptures, (which are God inspired), and be tested by it. We encourage the study, teaching and preaching of the Scriptures,(2 Timothy 3:15 &16). Church tradition does not take precedence over Scripture.
    
5. People are precious.
   Despite personal failings (sin) all people are valuable and made in God’s image. We call this ‘Positive Anthropology’. There is within every person the magnificent design of God (Gen 1:27), waiting to be released and redeemed from the impact of sin by a saving encounter with Jesus.
    
6. Jesus died for the sins of all people.
   God wants everyone to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. Salvation is by the unmerited grace of God offered to all and received by repentance and faith in Jesus, (1 Timothy 2:3-4; 2 Peter 3:9; 1 John 2:2). No one is either predetermined to be saved or to be lost.
    
7. The Church of God.
   We consider God’s Church as the visible (Matthew 5:14) and contemporary expression on earth of spiritual Israel (Romans 9:8) and is distinct from the world (John 17:13-18), consisting only of people of all ages who by personal choice, (not coercion), have experienced spiritual birth by the Holy Spirit. As the bride of Christ, the Church is distinct and separate from the State, and is the primary agent on earth of the kingdom of God, (Matthew 16:19).
    
8. Sacrificial Servant Discipleship.
   The true mark of followers of Jesus in Trinity Church is a willingness to live a sacrificial lifestyle by lovingly serving other people, in accountability to the Scriptures and reflective of the model of servant-hood of Jesus as recorded in the Gospels. (Luke 9:23, Philippians 2:4-8, Matthew 20:25-28.) Radical discipleship such as this is the expectation of Jesus for all of his followers.
    
9. All true followers of Jesus are prophets and priests of God.
   All religious privilege associated with sex, race or social status is eliminated in Jesus, (Matthew 27:50-51, Galatians 3:28). A ‘laity’ does not exist in Trinity Church as we are a kingdom of priests (1 Peter 2:9). However, some of us (both men & women) are leaders by Holy Spirit gifting and recognition, and have ‘rule’ in the community of God (Ephesians 4:11-12)( Acts 2:16-18).
    
10. Kingdom Mission.
    We understand kingdom mission as God’s will being done on earth as it is in heaven. It comes in words, works and wonders which are empowered by the Holy Spirit’ (Romans 15:17-19; 1 Thessalonians 1:5). We seek to demonstrate and proclaim the good news of the Kingdom by addressing the needs of the whole person.
     
11. Charismatic Christianity.
    All spiritual gifts are abilities (tools) currently available to disciples of Jesus (1 Corinthians 12:7) so they can speak and demonstrate the good news of God’s kingdom so that people are blessed and released to understand and experience the reality of Jesus, (1 Corinthians14:1,39; 1 Thessalonians 5:19-21; Matthew 6:10).
     
12. Unity strengthens our spiritual authority.
    We aim, as our conscience allows, to bless, affirm, dialogue with and cooperate with the work of all true Christians, including those who do not share all our values. (Ephesians 4:3; Psalms 133; Proverbs 6:16-19).
